- Hold-Open Devices: We ensure that hold-open devices on closures are functioning correctly as per the British Columbia Building Codes 2024. Devices must release upon signals from fire alarm systems and smoke detectors, conforming to:
- Sentence 3.1.8.15.(2): Single-stage systems must release any fire alarm signal, while two-stage systems must respond to alert signals and adjacent smoke detector activations.
- Sentence 3.1.8.15.(3): Devices must release signals from smoke detectors installed according to CAN/ULC-S524.
- Sentence 3.1.8.15.(5): In the absence of a fire alarm system, hold-open devices must release upon signals from smoke alarms located within 1.5 meters horizontally of the closure.
- Temperature Rise Limits: We check that doors meet the temperature rise limits specified in Article 3.1.8.17, ensuring that any issues with temperature rise are promptly addressed.
- Penetrations and Firestops: Our technicians inspect and repair penetrations to ensure that they are sealed with firestops meeting the requirements of Article 3.1.9.1, maintaining the integrity of fire separations.

- Temperature Rise Limits: We install doors and closures in compliance with Article 3.1.8.17, ensuring that they meet the required temperature rise limits as specified in the code.
- Firestop Systems: Installation of firestops conforms to Article 3.1.9.1, ensuring that all penetrations are sealed according to the fire-resistance ratings required, and that service equipment penetrations comply with Articles 3.1.9.2 and 3.1.9.3.
